Your satisfaction is our top priority. However, the application of this guarantee is at our discretion and applies only to our standard products. "Custom-made" refers to any non-standard product not available as-is on our website, including any modification to our standard products, no matter how minor. If you have any questions about this guarantee, don't hesitate to reach out.

We also encourage you to review our delivery policies here, particularly regarding the timeframe for providing any comments after taking possession of your new furniture.

Warranty

As all our furniture is designed and manufactured with high quality standards in mind, we offer you a 10-year warranty on all manufacturing defects that may occur over the years.

We are proud of our craftsmanship and the quality of our products, and we want you to be just as proud of your purchase as we are proud to be its makers.

By defects we mean the following situations (but not limited to):

  • Collage coming off
  • Peeling paint
  • Rusting steel
  • Drawer or door that opens/closes badly
  • Wooden tray that seeks to round off to a significant extent

Our warranty also does not cover features that come from the nature of solid wood, as well as the effects due to the normal use of a piece of furniture. Some cases not covered by our warranty:

  • Any marks which are part of the character of solid wood and which we cannot remove with standard sanding
  • Scratches and bumps due to normal or abusive use
  • Knots: less than 2 cm, the equivalent of a 5 cent coin, always filled with wood filler
  • Micro-cracks or micro-holes: less than 1/16 inch or 1.5mm wide (about 2 credit cards' thickness) and which do not present a risk for the solidity/durability of the furniture. If a crack is not visible (underneath or inside the furniture), is negligible in size, or is visible and filled with pore filler, it is because we have considered that it meets our quality standards
  • Non-visible parts: No aesthetic consideration, only consideration for the durability or solidity of the furniture. For example, we are talking here about the underside or back of furniture, interior of cabinets, back of headboard or parts not visible once the mattress is in place, etc.
  • Damage and stains due to liquids
  • Color changes or shade
  • Presence of sapwood in panels. Sapwood is the young part of the tree which has a different shade from the rest of the wood. It can take on a pinkish tint with Birch and rather pale with Oak and Walnut, which can clash with the rest. We consider the following percentages of sapwood on a panel to be acceptable: Birch/Oak: 20% and Walnut: 30%
  • Damage due to abusive use
  • Damage due to the use of cleaning products (see our maintenance advice)
  • Damage due to contact with a heat source (cauldrons, candles, or others)
  • Changes due to external factors such as an inadequate temperature or rate of humidity
  • Panels with boards that do not have the same appearance: we make our best effort to make our panels as uniform as possible, but we cannot guarantee this

This list gives an idea of what is and isn't covered by our warranty, but is not exhaustive. We process warranty requests on a case-by-case basis and we keep the right to refuse a case that is not mentioned in this list.

If you are unsure, feel free to email us photos at robin@degaspe.ca.

Please note: our 30-day guarantee and our regular warranty do not apply to custom-made furniture, "Refurbished" and "Perfectly Imperfect" items (for more information, please check the following section). By custom-made, we mean any modification done on a standard product that is on our website or any furniture that is not available on our website.
